How Long Can I Wait to Bring a Claim

There is no general answer to this common question.  Most personal injury lawsuits must be brought within 2 years of the date of the accident.  Some claims must be brought within one year, some must be brought in three years, and some time limits are “tolled” in certain circumstances.   It is very dangerous to wait very long before talking to an attorney; there are some deadlines that, if missed, will prevent you from bringing a claim, regardless of how hurt you are.

Aside from the time limits that will keep you from bringing your claim, there are other important decisions that need to be made quickly and correctly.  Probate matters, witness statements, scene investigations and evidence procurement are all time sensitive and difficult decisions to make if you are physically or emotionally affected.  Call the attorneys of Merman & Dunk for you free consultation.

What will your lawsuit cost?

At Merman & Dunk, your lawsuit will cost you nothing out-of-pocket.  Merman & Dunk LLP will pay all of the filing fees, court costs, expert fees and case expenses out of its own pocket.  We only get reimbursed if you recover.

Likewise, our fees are paid as a percentage of recovery: we get paid when and if you get paid.  If you do not win in your suit, you don’t owe us a dime.  It’s that simple.  It is also the reason Merman & Dunk works so hard for you.  We are on your team and we stand with you.
